Following a string of crises that shook his government, Boris Johnson, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, announced his resignation as leader of the Conservative Party. This sparked a leadership election for a new Tory leader who will eventually succeed him. Johnson will remain in control at 10 Downing Street until a new leader is chosen, which is anticipated to happen before the Conservative Party conference in October.

2. Ketanji Brown Jackson becomes First Black woman to be sworn in to the US Supreme Court

The United States created history when Ketanji Brown Jackson took her oath of office as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court, . The 51-year-selection old's by Democratic President Joe Biden marks the first time in 233 years that white men do not dominate the nation's highest court. Even though they all graduated from Harvard or Yale, the nine-member court now has four female justices, making it the most diverse bench in history.

Ferdinand Marcos Jr. took oath as 17th Philippine president.

Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the late dictator's son, won the election on May 9 With 31.6 million votes and was sworn in as the country's 17th president. He took the oath in front of Supreme Court Justice Alexander Gesmundo at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila. On June 19, Sara Duterte Carpio, the former President's daughter and campaign mate, took the oath of office. The two will continue to serve the country until 2028.

New programme launched by the US and its allies is called "Partners in the Blue Pacific."

In response to China's aggressive push to broaden its sphere of influence in the Pacific, the US and its allies, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the United Kingdom, have launched a new initiative called Partners in the Blue Pacific for effective and efficient cooperation with the region's small island nations. It became clear the intended scope of China's rising influence after it pushed for a broad, common cooperation pact with 10 Pacific governments, and the geostrategic competition in the area escalated.

UK announces 75 scholarships for Indian students on the 75th anniversary of Independence.

In honour of India's 75th anniversary of independence, the UK government has announced a collaboration with top Indian companies that will provide 75 fully financed scholarships for Indian students to study in the UK beginning in September. Additionally, there are about 18 scholarships for women in STEM fields offered by the British Council in India, spanning more than 12,000 courses at more than 150 UK universities.
