How to use this tool — FAQs
Everything you need to know about creating professional social work case study reports with this free documentation studio.
What is the Social Case Documentation Studio?
It is a free online social case study report generator for social workers, MSW and BSW students, NGOs, hospitals, schools and CSR teams. It turns rough field notes into professionally structured social work reports — case work records, NGO beneficiary case studies, medical and psychiatric social work reports, school social work records, community development reports, CSR impact documentation and MSW field work reports — formatted like a Microsoft Word document.
How do I create a report step by step?
Step 1: choose a report template. Step 2: fill in the basic details shown for that template and paste your rough notes into the smart notes box (or import a DOCX, PDF, TXT or RTF file) — every line is sorted into the right section automatically. Step 3: click Generate. Step 4: click any paragraph to edit, add your organisation, logo and signatures under Customise, then export as Word or PDF. A complete report usually takes a few minutes.
What does “empty — auto-completed” mean?
Any section you leave blank is written for you in standard professional casework language using the basic details you provided. The tool never invents facts: wherever real case information is needed, it inserts a highlighted [Add: …] marker for you to complete, and the Quality panel counts every remaining marker before export.
Which file types can I import?
DOCX, PDF, TXT, RTF, Markdown and HTML. Click “Import a file” or drag and drop it onto the smart notes box. The file is read entirely inside your browser, its content is classified, and each line is placed under the correct report heading for your review.
What does the exported report include?
The Word (.doc) export includes the cover page with your organisation name and logo, a table of contents, numbered sections, tables, the photographs annexure, signature blocks, the confidentiality note, A4 page layout with proper margins, and automatic page numbers (“Page X of Y”) in the footer. The PDF (Print) export keeps the same layout; page numbers can be enabled from the browser print dialog. HTML, Markdown, plain text and JSON exports are also available.
Can I add photographs and a logo?
Yes. In the Report Studio, open Customise: the logo appears on the cover page, and case photographs are added as a captioned “Annexure – Photographs” at the end of the report. Both are included in every export and in printing.
Is my case data private?
Completely. The tool runs 100% inside your browser — no account, no upload, no server. Case information never leaves your device, and closing or refreshing the page clears it. An anonymise option replaces the client’s name with initials for confidentiality.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes, it is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no export limits, provided by SocialWorkIn.com as a resource for the social work community.
