It presents a project's hierarchy of objectives, measurable indicators, verification sources, and assumptions in a single matrix, making it easy for donors, implementers, and evaluators to understand project logic at a glance.

Start with your Goal (broad development impact), then Purpose (the specific change your project achieves), followed by Outputs (tangible deliverables), and Activities (tasks to produce those outputs). For each level, define measurable OVIs, data sources (MoV), and key assumptions. Use the form above to guide you through each step systematically.

OVIs (Objectively Verifiable Indicators) are measurable, specific, and time-bound indicators used to assess whether each level of the logframe has been achieved. Good OVIs are SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, "70% of target mothers exclusively breastfeed for 6 months by Year 2" is a strong OVI for a nutrition project's Purpose level.

Outputs are direct, tangible products your project delivers (e.g., "500 health workers trained"). Outcomes (the Purpose level) are the changes in behaviour or conditions that result from using those outputs (e.g., "Improved health-seeking behaviour"). Outputs are under your direct control; outcomes depend on how beneficiaries engage with them.
