How to develop a project -Conceptual Understanding

The developing project is like developing a blueprint  for any development program which is to be implemented to make a change or bring a desirable change. When you go about formulating a project we must have the following answer.
  • What is the problem or question that we want to solve or answer?
  • How are we solving the problem?
  • How much would it cost to solve?
  • Who will our project help?
These stated questions are for conceptualizing the Project. Once you get these answer to the questions I am sure you have already developed an idea of your vision project. Let's get started by developing primary understanding before formulating a project.

      Problem Identification

A problem is the main reasons that are why we are formulating a project. A good project always comes from a good understanding of a problem. It is one of the primary steps to identify and address the problem. The problem may be of your locality, schools, and community. Critically examine the problem and describe why you want to solve the problem. For example, you have found out that there is a severe  scarcity of drinking water in a community. This problem should be well addressed with logical argument and systematic reasoning to claim that why this problem needs urgent attention.
In order to convince the donor agency how are you going to present your problem. What evidence do you carry to support your identified problem?
Presenting a problem with logic and significant evidence can make your problem more appealing and convincing from all perspective. You are not only needed to describe good problem definition but equally important to have solid data and evidence to prove that the problem actually exists. This process indicates research on your problem. You can produce evidence by doing your own research, or data from government surveys, statistics, from the study conducted by other person or organization on the same problem. This information is crucial as it will make others understand why the problem needs serious attention.

       Planning and Organizing

Once you have identified and examined the problem now make a proper plan for solving the identified problem. Planning is conscious thinking for creating logical means or methodology to achieve the goals. It is very essential to make concrete planning in order to make this workable and to provide effective service, setting up an administration, creating a mechanism for management, Rising funds, etc. When we talk about organizing it means systematic arrangement and allocation of resources

        Estimating or Budgeting

Now think of an important part of the Project Formulation. It is about estimating your entire project plan. How much will it cost to solve the identified problem? After planning and organizing of the resources, accordingly, assign the cost to each resource you have allocated for the project. While preparing or estimating budget ensure that it should be cost effective. We understand the resources as human resources, technological equipment's, materials and products or any supplies. Develop a list of the resources that you need for the project and estimate your project cost.

         Implementation

"Knowledge is not power , Implementation is power"Garrison Waynn.
Implementation is a process of getting a plan into action. Now the time for translating all the stated plan into action and activities. In order to get the objective achieved we design activities. Plan out activities for implementation of your plan that can really contribute to change that you want to see. Very importantly your expenses should not surpass your budget while implanting the project. Moreover, keep in mind all the activities have to be incorporated within a time frame and accordingly the progress of implementation has to be monitored.
