TOP 5 FOUNDING FATHER OF SOCIAL WORK
According to me, Sociology is a term
of social study where a human being can
interact with each other. In a geographical area where a
group of people interacts, share culture, traditions, and customs with
having different classes, races and genders also practice values beliefs,
faith. Society has its own rules and
regulations bearing language, dress patterns, food patterns with such cultures.
There are several definitions related to sociology.
There are a lot of
people do a lot of remarkable contributions to society. But, few of them
have a larger impact to the society.

Jane Addams
§ Her contribution to the social work journey has
started from 1860-1935. Her name is permanently cemented in the social work
history
§ She has put her efforts for women, child laborers,
the poor, uneducated, immigrants, etc.
§ Also, she was a social activist and she joined hands
with lobbyists, public speaking, offering support for the Women’s suffrage, the anti-war movement, urban
sanitation movement and much more.
§ She awarded as a cofounder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)

Alfred Neumann
§ He was one of the most substantial and inspiring contributions
to the social work journey.
§ He forms an organization the Jewish Family and
Children’s Services at Colorado. Which refers to a group that was housed
protected and advocated for fleeing Jewish family.
§ After shifted to the United States he received his
Master in Social Work in 1941, then he joined to work with Jewish Family and children services
agencies.
§ Later he promoted to executive director from 1948 to
1976. And after his retirement, Alfred continued the work and bring some
changes in the high level.
§ At last he worked as a consulting officer on economic
opportunity and Head Start programs. And he trained much staff to be
volunteers.

Feldman
§ Frances Feldman, she stared her career on the Human
Experience and based on her experiment she needs changes
§ She is the woman, who exposed discrimination against
cancer in the year of 1970. Her main objective was to bring permanent policy
changes.
§ As a result, many states changed their policy
legislation for, to treat people as one fairly in the working places.
§ From the year 1934 to 1982, she engaged in public
welfare, family services, faculty counseling, etc. Also, she published the book
on the Significance of money on social and psychological.
§ In US there is 300 branches according to her services.

Ida B. Wells
§ A prominent social worker, who became a bridge for the
Americans and Africans throughout the South face.
§ She had one of the dropout children and she struggled
for her career. At the age of 16, she lost her parents. Later days she needs
justice, and think the welfare of the citizens She, purely work for the racial
change. During her childhood to death, she forcibly suffered like anything.
§ Wells, after she faces some challenges she worked on
racial issues throughout the south. Also, she created social action through
propagation and anti-lynching campaigns
§ She wrote newspapers and published it like the New
York Age.
§ She also created the NAACP.

Mahatma Gandhi
§ Our national father aslo known as social worker doubtlessly. Gandhi ji learned many things from
Americans after he came to India he interrupted practiced of nonviolent
protest.
§ Gandhi fought for peace. He gave a moral speech and
his contribution towards society bring great change. He is known as both
peaceful protester and lawyer too.
§ He is called by many titles.
There might be some invisible social a worker whose contribution is not visible to the society but, the whole world
will remember to them through there good deeds.
