About the scholarship
The Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB), Ministry of Home Affairs invites applications for Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme For Central Armed Police Forces And Assam Rifles 2019-20 from the dependent widows and wards of Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles personnel and dependent wards of State Police personnel to pursue the first professional degree at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Eligibility for the scholarship
1. Be a ward or widow of deceased CAPF and AR personal who died in harness at work, OR
2. Be a ward of personnel who became disabled at work, OR
3. Be a ward or widow of retired and serving CAPF & AR personnel (below officer rank), OR
4. Be a ward of Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards, OR
5. Be a dependent ward of State Police personnel who got martyred during Naxal/Terror attacks
6. Be pursuing first professional degree courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, BPharm, BSc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc), MBA, MCA, etc.
7. Have secured 60% marks in the qualifying exams i.e class 12, diploma, Graduation or equivalent (Minimum Entry Qualification - MEQ)

Benefits of the scholarship
1. INR 3000 per month for girls
2. INR 2500 per month for boys

Term and condition
1. To ensure renewal of the scholarship for subsequent years, the students need to pass the professional course with at least 50% marks. 
2. The scholarship can be tenable for up to 5 years depending upon the duration of the course pursued by the applicant. 
3. The selected students will also receive a personal letter from the Honourable Prime Minister. 
4. The students admitted in the second year of professional/technical bachelor degree course through lateral entry can also apply for the scholarship.
5. The selected scholars will receive the scholarship amount directly into their bank accounts through the PFMS (Public Finance Management System) under the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) programme. 

Application procedure
1. From the academic year 2015-16 onwards, the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for CAPFs & AR is being implemented through National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
2. All the eligible applicants need to apply online on the website of National Scholarship Portal (NSP) on or before 15th December of every year.
3. Scrutiny/verification & confirmation of application by College/Institute/University to be done during 16 -31 December of every year.
4. Scrutiny/verification & confirmation of application by CAPFs & AR to be done during 01-15 th January of every year.
5. Processing for sanctioning of scholarship by R&W Dte., MHA from PMO to be done during 27 January - 5th February every year.
6. Disbursement of scholarship amount to be done during 16 - 28 th February
